Land Acknowledgement

The River East Transcona Teachers’ Association recognizes that we are on Treaty One land. We acknowledge that we are settlers to these lands; the original lands of the Anishinabe, Ininíwak, Anishinini(wak), Dakota and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Red River Métis. We acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, as well as those that continue to this day, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with the Indigenous communities in a spirit of seeking truth and acting on reconciliation.
