Demystifying Presenting to a Bill Committee
You’ve likely heard of the opportunity to register and speak to “The Committee” about Bill-64, the Education Modernization Act. When politicians get involved in education, educators need to get involved in politics. This is a great opportunity for us to have our voices heard by politicians who make legislation.
But what does it really mean to present to a Bill Committee? What is involved? Join our RETTA President for a Zoom discussion on presenting to the Bill-64 Committee. We will look at common questions and take the mystery out of the equation.
- What is this all about?
- How do I register to present and how much notice will they give me before I do?
- How do I prepare?
- Who will be there?
- Will I be asked questions?
- What if I can’t show up?
- Will it be in the evening or during the day?
- What do I say?
- Will it change anything?
We’ll look at all these questions and more.
WHEN: May 6th at 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
CONTACT: Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know which session you’d like to attend and a zoom link will be sent to you.
Hopefully we will see you on the 6th, and we can use this opportunity to raise our voices for the benefit of education in Manitoba.
