Notice of Call for RETTA Election
- Nominations for election to The River East Transcona Teachers’ Association Executive will be accepted effective February 1st, 2026.
- Potential candidates for nominations are to provide a professional biography and/or statement of not more than two hundred fifty (250) words and a photograph to Frank Reeves Local Returning Officer (retta.elections@gmail.com) prior to the close of nominations. Potential candidates for nominations for the positions of President or Vice-President are to also provide a completed election endorsement form (found on our Member Resources page).
- Nominations for RETTA Executive elections close on Friday, March 13th, 2026 at 4:00pm
- The Local Returning Officer will report to Council in writing the slate of nominees (including a professional biography and/or statement of not more than 250 words) for each position of the Executive, to be posted prominently in a location in the school (staff room) for information to Association members until the election.
- The Candidates’ Forum, if necessary, shall be held immediately following the March 17th Council meeting.
- The RETTA Election, if necessary, will occur online via Election Buddy. The polls will open Wednesday, April 8th, 2026 at 7:00 am and close Thursday, April 9th, 2026 at 9:00 pm There will not be advanced polling as the election period exceeds one single day.
